Where has the year gone??

Every so often I feel the need to update my blog. I know there are only about four people who read it (which is fine with me) but it makes me feel better to put things down on paper (or in this case on the computer) so that I don't end up freaking out on Mike. That is never fun for anyone....ever....He is way to cute to stay mad at anyway :)

Lately our days have been very busy around the Voet household. Between work and pampered chef and also everyones daily activities I have also gone back to school. It is online school which is good because I couldn't fit regular school into my schedule. So I take classes one at a time and I only have one class left after my current class for my first term. I am hopefully going to have graduated by September 2009. That is a year after I started and I hopefully will be able to finish everything by then :) I spend a lot of my free time trying to study, although I do get sidetracked a lot this lesson because this class bores me!!
Other than the craziness of everyday living we are trying to get ready for the holiday season which is QUICKLY approaching. I couldn't believe that Halloween is friday, Thanksgiving is in a month and Christmas is in two!! It seems like this year is flying by!! I am actually pretty excited about the holidays. It is our first Christmas in our house and hopefully it will be clean by then :)
We are planning our finishing unpacking and getting everything in order before thanksgiving. The first thing that we need to work on is getting our roof fixed. Due to the huge wind storm in September we had part of our roof pulled away and a nice hole put in it. Thankfully we had some help from Don who came and patched the hole until the insurance adjuster can come out this week. (We are not considered a high priority which I completely understand!!) I just hope we can get our roof fixed before the holidays and the snow!! I know that it could have been so much worse and I am so grateful that this all the damage that we had. We were also very lucky in the fact that we were only without power for about a day. Which I was very happy about because we had just gone grocery shopping on saturday at Sams club. I am also very thankful that we had someone who could come and help patch our roof, although I have to admit that I am getting a little tired of looking at the tarp covering our roof...
Well I had better go and do something productive. Maybe there will be more interesting things going on in our lives the next time I blog!!
